Diego Coppola didn’t deny the rumours linking him away from Brighton this January. He explained that in order to be in with a chance of making Italy’s World Cup squad, he needed more game time.
When asked about the possibility of a loan move, Coppola said: “I don’t know how to see it… The club knows what’s best for me. With the World Cup coming, I want to improve more, and by playing games I can improve.”
He added: “I would like more minutes, and today I had a chance, so I’m just happy…we didn’t concede, so I think we did our job.”

The young defender said: “I know the importance of JP and Dunky in the team… I want to help the team here but you don’t get the chance to play in the World Cup every year. The next one will be in four years. I don’t know, in four years a lot of things might happen.”

Fiorentina have reportedly been in contact with Coppola’s agent, according to Italian journalist Daniele Longo.
