Marc Guehi’s proposed £35 million move from Crystal Palace to Liverpool has collapsed at the final hurdle despite a deal sheet being submitted before the deadline.
The Reds had until 9pm to finalise the transfer after receiving permission for the England international to undergo a medical. However, The Athletic and Sky Sports News have now confirmed that Guehi will remain at Selhurst Park.

Palace had lined up Brighton defender Igor Julio as Guehi’s replacement, with the Brazilian completing a medical earlier today.
But in another twist, Igor opted to pursue a move to West Ham instead, a deal that remains incomplete. That uncertainty appears to have scuppered Palace’s plans and blocked Guehi’s switch to Anfield.
The decision leaves Liverpool without their top defensive target, while Palace risk losing Guehi for free when his contract expires next summer. It marks a significant blow for Arne Slot’s side, who believed they had secured one of the league’s most consistent centre-backs.
Palace did complete the signing of Toulouse defender Jaydee Canvot before the deadline, but for now, Guehi stays at Palace.
