Following Rio Ngumoha’s match winner against Newcastle last night, the Liverpool wonderkid became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer at just 16 years and 361 days.

#5 – Cesc Fabregas (17 years, 113 days old)

Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas scored his first Premier League goal back in 2004 against Blackburn Rovers. The Spaniard scored the second goal in a 3-0 win and became the youngest non-English player to score in the Premier League.

The current Como manager was at the Gunners for eight years before signing for Barcelona in 2011. He made his return to the Premier League in 2014 when he signed for Chelsea.

#4 – Rio Ngumoha (16 years, 261 days old)

The latest player to join this list is Liverpool star Rio Ngumoha, who scored his first goal for the Reds against Newcastle. His 100th minute winner at St James’ Park saw his side win 3-2.

Ngumoha is just a few days away from turning 17 years old but has already got the whole world watching due to his immense talent and potential. The goal was from the teenager’s first shot in the Premier League

Although he’s only the fourth youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, Ngumoha did become Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer. He broke Michael Owen’s record (17 years, 143 days old) by 147 days.

#3 – Wayne Rooney (16 years, 360 days old)

In third spot is Wayne Rooney who scored his first Premier League goal in October 2002 for Everton. The stunning strike was the winner in a 2-1 victory over Arsenal, ending the Gunners 30-game unbeaten run.

It was just Rooney’s ninth Premier League appearance, but in his 1st Premier League match, he claimed an assist against Tottenham. Rooney scored 17 goals for Everton before joining Manchester United in 2004. During his time at the Red Devils, Rooney scored 253 goals in all competitions, making him the club’s all-time leading scorer.

#2 – James Milner (16 years, 356 days old)

Just missing out on top spot is James Milner who scored his first Premier League goal in 2002 against Sunderland. He held the record for over two years following his Boxing Day goal to equalise for Leeds in what ended a 2-1 victory for his side.

Milner is also second for another Premier League record: most appearances. However, Milner could break Gareth Barry’s record (653) this season if he plays 15 more matches for Brighton.

#1 – James Vaughan (16 years, 270 days old)

The youngest Premier League goalscorer of all time is Everton’s James Vaughan, who scored his first goal against Crystal Palace in 2005. He was 86 days younger than previous record holder Milner.

His goal was the fourth in a 4-0 win over the Eagles. He went on to play 51 more appearances in the Premier League, with five of those being played for Norwich in 2011/12.
