The final games of the season all begun at 4pm on Sunday. With the title already Liverpool’s and relegation confirmed for Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton, it was the European places that were mainly up for grabs.
Arsenal finished second after a narrow 2-1 win over Southampton in which captain Martin Odegaard scored the winner.
Manchester City beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage thanks to goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland.
Elsewhere in the capital, Tottenham suffered a hefty 4-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton. Jack Hinshelwood scored a brace but as results elsewhere didn’t go Brighton’s way, their eighth place finish was no enough to secure Europe.
Aston Villa finished sixth after a controversial 2-0 defeat to Manchester United. Morgan Rogers had a goal ruled out which perhaps should have stood.
A win for the Villains would have seen them secure Champions League football, instead they will be in the Europa League next season.
Newcastle lost 1-0 to Everton but still managed to secure Champions League football as a result of Aston Villa’s loss.

West Ham beat Ipswich 3-1 away from home and the spoils were shared at the Molineux as Wolves drew 1-1 with Brentford. Bryan Mbuemo scored in that match to make his tally 20 for the season.
Liverpool faced Crystal Palace at Anfield and drew 1-1, meaning they ended their triumphant campaign on 84 points.
That’s all from me, see you next season!
