We are fast approaching the end of the season and there’s still loads to play for. Just two points separate fourth and seventh so many clubs race for Europe is more tense than ever.
The weekend’s action started at the Etihad where Crystal Palace looked likely to cause an upset. They quickly went 2-0 up but Manchester City came back to win 5-2.
Brighton collapsed again as Europe fell further out of reach, they drew 2-2 to Leicester who hadn’t scored since February. Despite seven big chances and two penalties, the Albion failed to gain all three points.
Everton caused a shock at the City Ground beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 and Brentford frustrated Arsenal with a 1-1 draw thanks to Yoanne Wissa’s second half equaliser.
Aston Villa kept pushing for back-to-back Champions League campaigns with a routine 3-0 win over Southampton.
On Sunday, Chelsea dropped points against Ipswich, drawing 2-2 whilst Liverpool left it late against West Ham. Andy Robertson scored a late own goal but Virgil van Dijk fortunately scored an even later winner.
Wolves punished Tottenham’s mistakes and piled misery on Ange Postecoglu with an emphatic 4-2 win and Newcastle smashed Manchester United 4-1 at St James’ Park.
On Monday night Bournemouth got back on track with a vital 1-0 win over Fulham. Antoine Semenyo scored in the first minute and the Cherries held on. Kepa Arrizzabalaga played a key part in the victory, making seven saves.
