Emiliano Martinez starts despite picking up a hand injury at Stamford Bridge as Aston Villa aim to get back on track against Brentford.
Martinez faced a late fitness test ahead of the match after being forced off at half-time in Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Villa need a win tonight against Brentford, who have struggled away from home this season.
Unai Emery’s side have failed to win any last seven matches but the Villa boss is still looking forward to the “challenge” of facing the Bees.
Emery said: “Brentford is one of the most consistent teams in the Premier League. Hopefully, [it] is a good challenge and a good day to dominate against the opponent.”
Despite the Villians poor form, they have been impressive at home, only losing one of their last 11 matches at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last four league games against Brentford, winning and drawing two each.
The Bees remain without Kristoffer Ajer due to a foot injury and Mathias Jensen is also out with a “minor hamstring injury,” Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, revealed.
Amadou Onana and Jacob Ramsey have each missed the last three matches due to injury and remain sidelined.
