The starting line-ups are out, take a look:

Horsham 2-0 Concord Rangers – AS IT HAPPENED

1′: Horsham take the kick off and we are underway in West Sussex.

2’: Jack Mazzone brought the ball down nicely, he’s dispossessed though and Concord Rangers move forward through Harrison Day, who passes to Frederick Agyemang. The Beach Boys forward wins a free kick in dangerous area.

2’: Ben Steward’s free kick attempt is straight at the wall and Horsham can now counter through Daniel Ajakaiye. His effort is decent but palmed away by Mason Terry between the sticks.

3’: Jamal Allen appeared to drag Mazzone to the ground but no foul according to referee. The Horsham fans aren’t pleased with that one.

4’: Lucas Rodrigues receives the ball from Mazzone before playing it wide to Lee Harding. The right back crosses into good area but Terry turns it away from danger.

5’: What a hit from Rodrigues! His effort is tipped over the bar by Terry in spectacular fashion. Corner to Horsham.

011-_51I7228

6’: The corner is wasted but Horsham manage to get it back in the mixer and earn another corner on the opposite side. It’s much deeper this time from James Hammond but he’s still unable to find a yellow shirt.

8’: Skipper Jack Brivio sprays the ball out to Harding who chops inside and crosses with his left foot. Concord Rangers clear but it’s positive football from Horsham. It’s been a quick start to say the least!

9’: Ajakaiye was through on goal and seemingly fouled in the penalty area but the referee says no again. The Hornets will feel hard done by in these opening minutes.

026-_51I7313

10’: Big cheer from the main stand as Horsham are finally given a free kick – Lucas Polyblank fouled Rodrigues in the middle of the park.

12’: Concord Rangers enjoy their first decent spell of possession along the back line but don’t look as though they will mount an attack. It’s been very defensive from the visitors so far but they’ve not had much choice.

14’: The tempo has dropped slightly in the last five minutes with neither side holding onto the ball long enough to create any significant opportunities.

033-_51I7380

18’: Concord Rangers finally break into the final third from kick off and earn a corner. It’s wasted though and Horsham clear.

19’: Free kick to Horsham as Mazzone wins the foul – his marker, Allen, goes through the back of him unnecessarily.

20’: Barker and Hammond are stood over the free kick, Hammond takes but his effort towards the top right corner is off target. Goal kick to Concord.

21’: Great challenge from Allen on Rodrigues, sliding in to prevent the midfielder going through on goal.

22’: Rodrigues is shown a yellow card for what seemed a soft foul on Jacob Bland. Rodrigues is unlucky to be booked there as it wasn’t a challenge that prevented a chance for Concord to attack.

25’: Day misses a sitter! The ball is zipped across the Horsham penalty area where Day was waiting unmarked but he some how turns it wide from six yards out. The linesman saves his blushes as the offside flag is raised.

27’: Hammond puts a brilliant delivery into the box finding Jack Strange at back post. His downward header seems set for the back of the net by CR Gk denies Horsham a second. It’s another corner for the Hornets.

044-_51I7464

31’: Allen plays yet another long ball over the Horsham defence. He finds Guy Norton but the Concord Rangers full back has strayed into an offside position. Free kick to Horsham.

33’: Rodrigues is on the ball again, he’s been very busy in the opening half hour, Mazzone then plays it wide to Hammond who squares it to the edge of the box but nobody’s there to have a shot on goal. Horsham aren’t done yet.

1G5A2485

34’: Rodrigues slots Ajakaiye through in behind the Concord back line. Terry does well though, sprinting off his line to beat Ajakaiye to the ball. Although his side are 2-0 down, the West Ham loanee has been superb so far.

36’: Mazzone is challenged in the middle of the park but holds onto the ball well. He releases Reece Meekums out on the left flank, who keeps possession well in restricted space. Horsham manage to get the ball back into the middle of the park. The play fizzles out in the end though due to Brivio’s misplaced pass.

38’: Horsham appear to be seeing out the half, allowing Concord to have more of the ball and play themselves into trouble. It’s been an assured first half from the home side.

1G5A2360

41’: Allen and Norton get in a muddle and gift the ball to Ajakaiye. His left footed strike is blocked but Horsham do have a corner.

42’: Hammond’s corner is way over hit and goes out for a throw in on the opposite side. Wasted opportunity at the end of the half.

082-_51I7743

45’: There will be a minimum of two minutes added time before the interval.

HT: Horsham lead 2-0 at the break with Concord Rangers never really getting a look in. The Hornets have had plenty more opportunities with the Beach Boys unable to stop them. You would expect more of the same in the second half; as it stands though, Horsham have secured a play-off spot for the first their history. See you after the break!

46’: Rodrigues is replaced by Doug Tuck at half time. He had an excellent first half so I can only assume he’s been bought off to avoid a second yellow.

48’: Horsham earn a throw in their own half as Concord winger Anjeolaoluna Adamu slips whilst making a run down the left flank.

50’: Meekums is fouled but manages to flick it behind him to release Harvey Sparks. Sparks drives into the box but is dispossessed before he could decide whether to shoot or pass. He needed to be more selfish there and go for goal.

069-_51I7656

53’: Meekums earns another corner after driving along the by-line and shooting from a narrow angle. The corner from Hammond finds a teammate whose volley is cleared off the line. Close from Horsham who are probing for a third.

55’: Lewis Carey rolls the ball out to Sparks but it hits the back of his heel and bounces back towards goal. The home fans in the ground held their breath for a moment. Fortunately for the Hornets nothing came from the error.

56’: Another superb save from Terry. Ajakaiye drives through and holds his defender off well to get a shot away but once again it’s saved by the Concord goalkeeper.

079-_51I7717

58’: Substitution for Concord, Polybank makes way for Joshua Rusoke.

60’: It’s hoofed up by Carey. Joseph Burton can’t meet the header and Horsham can take advantage now. Ajakaiye brings it down and sets it off to Hammond who shifts the ball onto his right but the bending effort sails over the bar.

62’: There’s a big opening for Horsham on the left wing. Mazzone tried to thread a ball through to Meekums but it’s over hit and Terry easily claims.

096-_51I7889

64’: Mazzone chips it over to left side again. His effort is successful this time, finding Ajakaiye. He tries to play the ball into Meekums but his pass is smothered away by Terry who rushed out quickly.

65’: Sparks forces another save from Terry. Sparks drives at his defender before beating him with a chop onto his right foot. His low curling effort was headed for the bottom right corner but once again, Terry got behind the shot and turned it wide.

68’: Concord Rangers put the ball in the back but the flag is up so it won’t count. Horsham must be careful though, they can’t afford to slip up.

1G5A2377

69’: Horsham make their second change. Goal-scorer Mazzone is replaced by Shamir Fenelon.

69’: Concord Rangers also make a change, William Dupray is coming on for Day.

72’: Concord Rangers have just their second corner of the game, Rusoke’s delivery sailed over all his teammates and Horsham win a free kick for a foul in the box.

74’: Barker picks up the ball in midfield and bursts forward. No one is closing him down and he continues towards the edge of the box. Sparks aimed for the bottom right but his strike is tipped around the post by Terry.

087-_51I7787

75’: Sparks lifts the ball over the Concord Rangers defence brilliantly. Meekums made the run to meet it but the slippery surface takes the ball away from him. There’s been so much more action down the left flank in the second half compared to the first.

76’: Third change for Horsham, Ajakaiye makes way for Bobby Price. A defensive change to help the Hornets see out the final 15 minutes of normal time.

1G5A2660

77’: Horsham come so close to making it three! Another muddle at the back for Concord Rangers and Fenelon emerges with the ball. Terry slid in to stop Fenelon’s shot. It then fell to Hammond who hooked it over his head towards goal. It looked goal-bound but Norton headed it off the line before crashing into the post. A great stop by the Beach Boys defender.

81’: Fenelon brings it down on the left hand side and plays an exquisite ball into Meekums, Concord Rangers fail to clear and Horsham regain possession.

A19I9361

83’: Fenelon is slotted through again but of course, Terry makes a save! He’s been incredible today. Horsham would have reached double digits if it weren’t for him.

098-_51I7952

84’: A final change for Concord Rangers as Joseph Halsey replaces Agyemang.

86’: The main stand are in full voice now as a steward riles up the home fans. They are only a few minutes away from watching their side make history.

88’: Another goal line clearance! I don’t believe it, Norton’s done it again. Credit to Concord Rangers, they’ve defended excellently in the second half. Meekums has a shot at an open goal but is denied by Norton who slides across the line. Meekums can’t believe he’s not scored.

89’: Today’s man of the match is Horsham captain Brivio. He’s led the side well in a vital match and got on the scoresheet to ensure his side a play-off place.

90’: There will be a minimum of three minutes added time. The noise is building up in the stadium, not long now.

92’: Concord Rangers have a free kick but Horsham clear, this could be it. All eyes on the referee as he glances at his watch.

A19I9342

FT’: It’s all over, Horsham have done it! They have secured their play-off place on the final day of the season. Mazzone and Brivio score the all important goals but it was an impressive performance all around. They will face Chatham on Wednesday 1st May at 7:45pm in the play-off semi finals. Credit to Comcord Rangers who held firm in the second half but overall it was a straightforward victory for the Hornets who are one step closer to joining Hornchurch in the National League South next season. That’s all from me – thanks for following along, goodbye!
