The Premier League pauses for two weeks after this round. With Liverpool taking on Arsenal, managers who tend to avoid big clashes may feel their choices are limited, as both sides are among the few to have started with maximum points.

Goalkeepers

Guglielmo Vicario (£5.0m, Tottenham vs Bournemouth)

Two clean sheets from two matches, along with eight saves, make Vicario a standout pick. His reliability in goal is hard to ignore, and with Spurs looking solid at the back, he offers strong value.

Jordan Pickford (£5.5m, Everton vs Wolves)

Pickford is always good for save points, and with Wolves struggling in front of goal, he has a strong chance of keeping things tight again. His clean sheet and penalty save in Gameweek 2 earned him a massive 15 points, showing just how explosive he can be in FPL.

Dean Henderson (£5.0m, Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace)

Villa are yet to find the net this season, while Palace’s defence has looked steady. That gives Henderson strong potential for points this week. He’s always a reliable pick.

Defenders

van de Ven (£4.5m, Tottenham vs Bournemouth)

Spurs look much more assured defensively when Van de Ven plays, and it shows in their results. Bournemouth have struggled to create clear chances so far, which gives him a strong platform for another clean sheet. At £4.5m, he also frees up budget for managers looking to invest heavier in attack.

Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.1m, Arsenal vs Liverpool)

Gabriel remains one of Arsenal’s most reliable defenders, especially from set pieces where he’s always a threat. While facing Liverpool is never an easy fixture, his attacking potential and nailed-on minutes still make him a player worth considering.

Tino Livramento (£5.0m, Leeds Utd vs Newcastle Utd)

Livramento has started Newcastle’s opening two matches and looks to have earned the manager’s trust. Despite Newcastle’s slow start, this trip to newly promoted Leeds gives them a real chance to get their first win, and Livramento could benefit with defensive returns.

Mildfiders

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m, Man Utd vs Burnley)

A home game against a promoted side would usually put United players in the spotlight, but their recent struggles tell a different story. Mbeumo’s proven Premier League record and steady attacking threat make him a strong pick this week.

Cody Gakpo (£7.5m, Liverpool vs Arsenal)

Gakpo put in a strong performance against Newcastle in Gameweek 2, showing his sharpness in front of goal and link-up play. Even with Arsenal as the opponents, he has the form and quality to make an impact in this big clash.

Jack Grealish (£6.5m, Wolves vs Everton)

Grealish is starting to look like his old self again after leaving City. He made an impact off the bench in the opener and followed it up with two assists when given a start in Gameweek 2. At £6.5m, he’s shaping up to be a real value option.

Forwards

Hugo Ekitike (£8.7m, Liverpool vs Arsenal)

Ekitike has hit the ground running at Liverpool. With two goals and an assist already, he’s proving difficult for defenders to handle. Even in a high-profile clash against Arsenal, he looks like one of the players to watch this gameweek.

Richarlison (£6.7m, Tottenham vs Bournemouth)

Richarlison looks refreshed under new management and is thriving with the quality of service around him. Bournemouth’s defensive issues make this a good fixture for him to keep his form going and deliver more FPL points.

Ollie Watkins (£9.0m, Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace)

Watkins is yet to deliver points this season, but his work rate and positioning suggest it’s only a matter of time. Even in Villa’s defeat to Brentford in Gameweek 2, he was involved in key chances. With Palace visiting this week, he remains a player worth keeping an eye on.

João Pedro – Chelsea’s forward vs Fulham, looks sharp.

Richarlison – In form, Bournemouth defence stretched.

Ollie Watkins – Still goalless, but Palace at home is promising.

Chelsea – Palmer ruled out through injury.

Arsenal – Saka and Havertz sidelined.
