Real Madrid enter the Club World Cup semi-final brimming with confidence and under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, determined to affirm their elite status.
Alonso’s side have impressed fans especially after a dramatic 3–2 win over Borussia Dortmund. He also responded by naming a strong XI for this semi-final showdown.
Kylian Mbappé makes his first start for the tournament after recovering from illness, while Arda Güler earns a start in midfield alongside Bellingham and Tchouaméni. There’s also continuity in defence, with Courtois, Valverde, and Fran García all keeping their places.
Real Madrid coach, Xabi Alonso emphasised the challenge ahead: “We’re facing PSG, European champions in superb shape… It’s a big test for us.”
He also mentioned his tactical demands on his players: “We need everyone to defend… the 11 players on the pitch have to be involved defensively.”
PSG arrive unbeaten and full of confidence after their 2–0 win over Bayern München. But Madrid with the experience of Rüdiger, the spark of Vinícius Jr., and Bellingham making his 100th club appearance — have the pedigree to match.
Kick-off: 3pm local time, MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.
