Danny Welbeck ended his 10-game goal drought as Brighton beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Amex Stadium. The win was their third on the bounce at home, a feat that hasn’t been achieved since September 2023.
The veteran striker made an instant impact off the bench, he scored just three minutes after replacing Joao Pedro. Rutter claimed the assist as Welbeck scored his seventh goal of the season, his left-footed strike tapped the post and trickled over the line to win the match for Fabian Hurzeler’s side.

Pedro sent Kepa the wrong way and coolly rolled the ball into the bottom corner to score his seventh goal of the campaign.

Brighton had plenty of chances to put the game to bed in the first half. Their best chance came towards the end of the half as a well worked move led to Mitoma striking the post.
Pedro was at the heart of the move and broke the Bournemouth back line to find Tariq Lamptey on the right flank.
Lamptey fired a cross into Mitoma who was denied a goal for a fourth consecutive match as his scissor-kick volley struck the woodwork.

Brighton are now eighth on 43 points whilst Bournemouth drop to seventh on the same tally.
