Welcome back to Premier League round up’s on INMR, where this week I’ll be covering game week eleven. This game week saw Liverpool fly five points clear, Brighton shock Manchester City and Ipswich pick up their first win of the season. All that and more coming up – enjoy!

What happened during match day eleven?
There was no 12:30 kick-off this weekend so four matches kick started the game week. The standout result came at the Gtech Community Stadium as Brentford came out on top in a five goal thriller against Bournemouth.
Fulham and Wolves picked up three points in 2-0 wins but Everton and West Ham were forced to share points in a goalless affair in the capital. Brighton faced Man City under the lights at the Amex and despite going a goal down, came back to win 2-1.
The final match of the day was at Anfield as Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah combined to beat an out of form Aston Villa.

On Sunday, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s short lived time in charge of Manchester United came to an end. He said goodbye with a simple 3-0 win over Leicester.
Tottenham were stunned at home as Ipswich picked up their first win of the season. First half goals from Liam Delap and Sammie Szmodics were enough to overcome the Lilywhites.
Nottingham Forest suffered just their second defeat of the season as Newcastle won 3-1 away from home. Finally, at Stamford Bridge Arsenal were forced to settle for a point as Pedro Neto cancelled out Gabriel Martinelli’s goal.

What did we learn?
Wissa can not be stopped – In the summer, the departure on Ivan Toney should have spelled disaster for Brentford. However, it’s been quite the opposite thanks for Yoane Wissa. He’s got eight goal contributions in as many games in the league this season.
His latest contribution came against Bournemouth where the Bees forward netted a brace to send his side 11th. Although that doesn’t sound overly impressive, they are just two points off the European places.

It’s tight at the top…kind of – Although Liverpool have charged in front at the summit of the Premier League fairly quickly, it’s a close contest elsewhere.
Chelsea currently sit in third with 19 points, with Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Brighton below them. However, all three of those side’s also sit on 19 points. In fact the gap between Chelsea and ninth place Aston Villa is just one point. After the international break, points in the top half are going to prove to be more vital than ever before.
City are in crisis – Four in a row. An incredible achievement at the end of May. Now though, four in a row has taken on a new meaning for Man City fans who are watching their club endure a horrible run of form.
2-1 defeats to Bournemouth, Tottenham and Brighton on top of a 4-1 thrashing in the Champions League last week makes for the worst run in Pep Guardiola’s tenure.
To make matters worse, their next six league fixtures include matches against Tottenham, Liverpool, Man United and Aston Villa. Throw in some Champions League clashes against Feyenoord and Juventus and you’ve got a very tricky end to 2024.
Moment of match day eleven:
This week, the best moment came after Brighton’s win over Man City, where Pep Guardiola and Jan Paul van Hecke exchanged words in what appeared to be a heated conversation.
Van Hecke had been involved in a scuffle with Erling Haaland late on in his side’s impressive victory, causing Guardiola to approach the Dutchman at full-time.
According to Mail Sport, lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman suggested Guardiola said to van Hecke: “Are you joking? Are you serious? You don’t do that.”
Guardiola continued: “Are you crying? Are you proud of it?” Brighton defender van Hecke responded: “sure”.
