It’s Kobbie Mainoo’s world and we’re just living in it. It’s been an incredible debut season from the young midfielder, capped off with an FA Cup victory against Manchester City.

Although Manchester United haven’t had the best season by any stretch of the imagination, but Mainoo has been a constant performer in the side at just 18-years-old.

He turned 19 in April, but prior to that, he achieved the following with the his boyhood club:

  • 26th November 2023: First Premier League start vs Everton where his side won 3-0 and he earned the Man of the Match award.
  • 29th November 2023: Made his Champions League debut three days later against Galatasaray where he played 32 minutes in a 3-3 draw.
  • 28th January 2024: Scored his first Manchester United goal in the FA Cup against Newport County.
  • 1st February 2024: Scored his first Premier League goal against Wolves, a 97th minute winner in a 4-3 thriller.
  • March 2024: Called up for the England national team for friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
  • 23 March 2024: Made his England debut as a substitute, came on in the 75th minute for Conor Gallagher in a 1-0 defeat against Brazil.
  • 26th March 2024: Made his first start for England against Belgium and won the Man of the Match award.

Mainoo’s season has ended on an even bigger high, winning his boyhood club their 13th FA Cup trophy. He was also called up for England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad earlier in the week.

Man United legends have praised the youngster highly, Paul Scholes said: “This boy is special. He is 10 times the player I was at 19”. Rio Ferdinded even compared Mainoo to Clarence Seedorf after the stunning 4-3 victory against Wolves.
