Following Brighton’s 1-0 defeat to rivals Crystal Palace this afternoon, manager Fabian Hurzeler was booed down the tunnel by the home fans.
The Brighton supporters also joined in when Crystal Palace fans chanted at Hurzeler: “You’re getting sacked in the morning”.
After the full-time whistle, a poll was published to gauge how many Albion fans felt the German’s time at the club was up.
The poll revealed that 80.6% of Brighton fans want Hurzeler to be sacked.
One fan said via X: “ONCE AGAIN HURZLER OUT!! We are a poorly managed team that gave our rivals their first win in 12 games. IT’S TIME TO GO!”
“The manager needs to be sacked. Europe is a distant dream. Relegation is a possibility if he stays”, said another.
However, some Brighton fans are calling for Hurzeler to remain until the end of the season. One fan said: “As much as I want Hurzeler gone we can’t do it right now, it’d be too much of a risk at this point in the season.”
Sources at Brighton say there is no diminishing faith in Fabian Hurzeler at the boardroom level, suggesting Hurzeler won’t be losing his job anytime soon. Brighton don’t play at home again until March and face Aston Villa next on Wednesday night.
