Sunderland have sealed the signing of Granit Xhaka for £17 million.
Xhaka will become Sunderland’s 8th signing this summer in a deal which means the club’s spending has exceeded the £100m mark this summer.
The Swiss captain makes his return to the Premier League after leaving Arsenal in the summer of 2023 after seven topsy-turvy years at the club.

The midfielder even managed a 16th place finish in the Ballon D’or as recently as 2024.
His presence, leadership and experience will be of great value for Sunderland’s hopes of staying up this season on their return to the Premier League.
Xhaka will be a fan favourite for his aggressive and combative style, as well as his eye for a long ranged screamer.
