Brentford have been fairly active in the transfer market this summer, adding a mix of experienced players and promising youngsters. True to their style, the club’s recruitment looks smart and long-term, the kind of approach that’s kept them competitive in the Premier League without splashing cash like the big clubs.

They may not be the first team that comes to mind when building an FPL squad, but Brentford have offered budget-friendly picks in the past. With some interesting new arrivals, it’s worth taking a closer look to see if any of them are worth considering ahead of Game Week 1.

Caoimhin Kelleher – Goalkeeper

After spending years as Alisson’s backup at Liverpool, Kelleher finally gets a shot at being first choice. Brentford clearly rate him, and he should push for the starting role right away. If he’s priced at £4.5m, he could become a solid budget option especially if the team stay tight at the back. One to monitor closely in pre-season.

Jordan Henderson – Midfielder

Henderson brings loads of experience and leadership to Brentford’s midfield, but in fantasy terms, he’s not much of a draw. He’s likely to sit deep, focus on keeping the ball moving, and stay out of attacking areas. Even at a cheap price, there’s little reason to consider him for your FPL team.

Michael Kayode – Defender

Kayode might turn out to be the most exciting signing of the lot. The 21-year-old right-back joins from Fiorentina and has the qualities of a modern full-back fast, energetic, and attack-minded. If he starts regularly and comes in at £4.5m, he could offer great value, especially if he chips in with assists. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Antoni Milambo – Midfielder

Milambo arrives from Feyenoord as a technically gifted playmaker with big potential. But at 20, and with limited top-flight experience, he may not see regular minutes early on. He’s one for the future, and unless he forces his way into the XI, he won’t offer much FPL value just yet.

Romelle Donovan – Midfielder

Donovan joins from Birmingham City and, like Milambo, is likely to be eased in slowly. At best, he could emerge as a £4.5m fifth-midfielder option later in the season. But for now, there’s no clear path to regular starts, so he’s not worth planning around.

Final Thoughts

From an FPL point of view, this is a wait-and-see group overall. Kelleher stands out as the most promising pick, especially if he’s confirmed as Brentford’s starting keeper. Kayode could also be a smart differential if he nails down the right-back spot and shows attacking intent.

The rest of the signings are more long-term projects, with limited short-term fantasy appeal. Still, Brentford have a history of turning unknown names into useful FPL assets, so it’s worth monitoring how these players settle in during pre-season. A few surprises could be in store once the season kicks off.
