Each time new teams join the Premier League, FPL managers get the chance to spot some fresh, affordable talent. This season, Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland are back in the top flight, and they’re bringing a few players who could be useful picks in Fantasy Premier League.
While promoted sides can struggle, they often have one or two players who step up and deliver solid returns especially early in the season when prices are low and expectations are unclear.
Below are five players who stood out in the Championship last season and could be worth watching in FPL this coming 2025/26 season.

Joel Piroe was a key part of Leeds’ attack last season. He scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists in 46 games, helping the club return to the Premier League. He’s a calm finisher who’s often in the right place at the right time.
Piroe doesn’t need many chances to score, which could help him stand out even in tougher games. If he keeps his place in the team, he could be a solid forward option, especially for managers looking for a reliable, low-cost striker.

Jaidon Anthony had a strong season for Burnley. He played 42 matches, scored 8 goals, and assisted 7. His pace and dribbling from the wing made him a constant threat. Now that he’s joined Burnley permanently, he’ll be hoping to carry that form into the Premier League.
Anthony has the ability to stretch defences and create chances, which could make him a decent FPL option. If Burnley play on the front foot, he might offer both goals and assists.

Daniel James had one of his best seasons, with 12 goals and 9 assists in 36 games. His speed and energy were key to Leeds’ promotion. He’s always dangerous on the wing and can both score and create.
James also brings Premier League experience, which gives him an advantage. If he starts regularly, he could be a great budget pick for managers looking to save money in midfield.

Mayenda was one of Sunderland’s top performers last season. He scored 10 goals and added 5 assists in 40 matches. Still young, he plays with confidence and looks to get behind defences.
Sunderland may struggle in the top flight, but Mayenda’s pace and movement could help him grab a few goals. As a budget striker, he’s one to keep an eye on.

Zian Flemming added quality to Burnley’s midfield, scoring 12 goals and making 4 assists in 35 games. He likes to shoot from range and get into scoring positions.
If he nails down a starting role, he could be one of the surprise midfield options this season.
