The summer transfer window is in full swing, and Premier League clubs are wasting no time bringing in fresh talent. For Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, this is the moment where excitement meets caution. It’s tempting to jump on new signings early, but not every fresh face delivers instant returns.

So, which of the new arrivals are worth considering for your Game Week One squad and who should stay on the watch list for now? Let’s look at seven confirmed signings and break down whether they’re likely to be a hit or a miss.

1. Joao Pedro → Chelsea (HIT)

Joao Pedro has joined Chelsea after showing flashes of quality at Brighton. He’s good in tight spaces, knows how to find the net, and could even be on penalties. If he nails down a starting role, especially with Chelsea’s kind fixtures early on, he could be a smart early pick.

2. Matheus Cunha → Manchester United (HIT)

Cunha made a decent impression at Wolves with his pace and drive. Now at Manchester United, he’ll be hoping to push on even further. If he gets regular minutes, his energy and goal threat could make him a valuable FPL option.

3. Florian Wirtz → Liverpool (MISS)

Wirtz comes in with a strong reputation from Germany, but Liverpool’s midfield is stacked. It might take him a while to adjust and get consistent game time. As talented as he is, it’s probably best to wait and see how he settles before bringing him in.

4. Jeremie Frimpong → Liverpool (HIT)

Frimpong is an attacking full-back who loves to get forward and make things happen. If he becomes a regular starter, he could offer both clean sheets and attacking returns, the kind of defender every FPL manager wants. Keep an eye on his role during pre-season.

5. Tijjani Reijnders → Manchester City (HIT)

With Kevin De Bruyne gone, there’s room in City’s midfield for someone new to step up. Reijnders joins from AC Milan and looks like someone who could fit into Guardiola’s system. If he starts regularly, he could become a steady FPL pick especially with City’s strong attack.

6. Mathys Tel → Tottenham (MISS)

Tel is an exciting young forward, but breaking into Spurs’ starting XI won’t be easy. With several options already ahead of him, he might not get many minutes at first. For now, he’s one to watch rather than own.

7. Kepa Arrizabalaga → Arsenal (MISS)

Kepa’s move to Arsenal creates more questions than answers. With Raya still at the club, it’s unclear who will be first choice in goal. Until that’s sorted out, it’s probably best to avoid Arsenal’s goalkeepers completely.

Final Thoughts

As always, let pre-season guide your final decisions. Monitor line-ups, minutes, and form and don’t be afraid to wait a few weeks before jumping on the hype. Joao Pedro, Cunha, Frimpong, and Reijnders could offer early value. Wirtz, Tel, and Kepa, on the other hand, might be worth holding off on , at least until we see how things play out.
