Jordan Henderson is wanted by Nottingham Forest and Marseille this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The England international can leave Ajax for free due to a clause in his contract. If the clause is triggered before mid-July, Henderson can leave as a free agent.

The Mirror have reported that Nottingham Forest are looking to bolster their midfield options ahead of the Conference League next season. Henderson’s European experience would be key for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

Vinny O’Connor of Sky Sports News reported that Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi is also keen on acquiring Henderson’s services.

Henderson’s boyhood club Sunderland have also been heavily linked with a possible move, following their promotion to the Premier League.

Henderson played 45 times for Ajax last season as they missed out on winning the Eredivisie title. The 35-year-old has also remained a trusted member of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

According to the Daily Mail, Henderson has not fully decided whether it is best to leave Ajax or stay put.

The Englishman is currently the highest earner at the Eredivisie outfit, he’s on between £85,000-£110,000 per week including bonuses.

However, reports suggest that a return to the Premier League would enhance his chances of making the 2026 World Cup squad.
