Former England manager, Gareth Southgate, has reportedly applied to become manager of the Polish National Team, according to The Standard.

Polish newspaper, Przeglad Sportowy, revealed that Southgate has applied to become Poland’s new head coach following Michal Probierz’s resignation last week.

Probierz stepped down shortly after Robert Lewandowski said he would not play for his country while Probierz is in charge after he was replaced as captain by Piotr Zielinski.

Southgate resigned from his post as Three Lions boss in July 2024 following England’s Euro defeat to Spain.

Back then, Southgate said: “It has been the honour of my life to play for England and to manage England… But it’s time for change, and for a new chapter.”

The 54-year-old was linked with the Manchester United job at the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season but Ruben Amorim took over instead.

During Southgate’s eight year tenure as England boss, he led his side to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, the Euro 2020 final, the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals, and the Euro 2024 final.
