In Fantasy Premier League (FPL), chasing explosive returns can be tempting. But seasoned managers know that long-term success often comes from steady, predictable points. Players who avoid blank patches, stay fit, and rack up consistent returns are the backbone of any well-performing squad.
This piece highlights the top five most consistent performers from the 2024/25 FPL season, using Points Per Match (PPM) stats from the official Premier League site.
These are players who not only accumulated high totals, but did so regularly, helping thousands of managers climb the ranks without relying on streaky form.

Watkins was perhaps the most dependable budget-friendly forward this season. While his returns weren’t as headline-grabbing as others, he showed up week after week with a mix of goals, assists, and the occasional bonus point.
His versatility under Unai Emery saw him drift wide or drop deep at times, yet he remained effective in FPL. Most importantly, he was available nearly every game, giving managers one less headache. At 4.9 PPM, Watkins offered excellent value and helped free up budget for premium picks elsewhere.
He also performed well in trickier matches, providing assurance that he wasn’t just a flat-track bully.

While Haaland didn’t reach the same numbers as the previous campaign, due in part to injury and Pep rotation and he still posted an elite-level 5.8 PPM. Every time he featured, there was a strong chance he would find the net.
Despite the lower total points, Haaland maintained his reputation as a high-impact asset. He scored crucial goals in tough fixtures and remained a regular captain choice when fit. His physical presence, penalty duties, and bonus point magnetism kept him relevant throughout.
Even when unavailable, many FPL managers devised ways to bring him back in quickly which is a testament to his threat and reliability when active.

Palmer was perhaps the breakout FPL star of 2024/25. He quickly took on a central role, both creatively and in terms of responsibility.
His coolness from the penalty spot, frequent involvement in open play, and knack for picking up bonus points meant he was never far from a return.
With an average of 5.8 PPM, Palmer was a mid-priced gem who often outperformed more expensive assets. He became a go-to differential in the first half of the season before graduating into template territory by mid-season. His reliability was crucial during Chelsea’s upturn in form.
Total Points: 214 | Points Per Match: 5.8

Before injury briefly interrupted his campaign, Mbeumo was one of the most consistent mid-price midfielders in the game. His early-season form made him near-essential, especially with Brentford’s favourable fixtures and his penalty duties.
Averaging 6.2 points per match, Mbeumo regularly chipped in with returns, even when Brentford weren’t at their best. What made him stand out was his ability to deliver against both strong and weak opposition, without relying on explosive game weeks.
Managers who got him early and held benefited from a steady stream of between five and seven point returns, ideal for squad balance.

Salah once again proved why he’s a Premier League great, not just with goals, but with his unwavering consistency. Despite rotation worries early on, he stayed fit for the majority of the season and delivered week after week.
With a league-best 9.1 PPM, Salah was often the first name on the team sheet. He registered the most bonus points (55), the most double-digit hauls, and became the fastest player this season to cross both the 150 and 200 point thresholds.
His reliability made him a safe captain pick, especially during unpredictable game weeks. For managers who stuck with him, Salah’s steady contributions laid the foundation for a high overall rank.

Several other players also stood out for their consistency, despite narrowly missing out on the top five. Heung-min Son delivered explosive patches of form but had quiet spells that made him tricky to hold long-term.
Bukayo Saka remained reliable across most of the season, though he was occasionally outshone by teammates in terms of points per match. Jarrod Bowen began the season strongly and offered great value before a late dip in form.
Meanwhile, Pedro Porro emerged as a dependable defensive asset, regularly contributing attacking returns and proving valuable week-to-week.

Salah, Palmer, Mbeumo, Haaland, and Watkins did just that making them essential assets at various points in the season.
By focusing on Points Per Match, FPL managers can better assess who delivers value over time, and who might just be a flash in the pan. As planning begins for next season, these names should be at the top of every watchlist.
