Liverpool have reportedly agreed a British-record transfer fee of £116.5 million to sign Florian Wirtz, according to Sky Sports.
Wirtz is now free to speak to Liverpool and agree personal terms. The German is expected to complete his medical next week upon his return from holiday.
The record fee is made up of £100 million plus £16.5 million in potential add-ons. The previous record fee was £115 million when Chelsea signed Moises Caicedo from Brighton back in 2023.

Sky Sports report that Man City were also in the race for Wirtz but pulled out due to the spiralling costs of the whole package. Bayern Munich were interested too but Wirtz only wanted to join the Reds.
He joins former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong in Merseyside, after the full-back recently signed for £29.5 million to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Wirtz has been a sought after player for some time now, espceially follwoing Bayer Leverkusen’s league triumph in 2023/24. This season, in the Bundesliga, the German midfielder scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists.
