Premier League action begun with a bang as the highly anticipated clash between over performing Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest ended in a 5-0 win for the Cherries.
Brighton aimed for their third win on the bounce but were stopped in their tracks by Everton who defended superbly to leave the Amex with a 1-0 win.
Liverpool smashed Ipswich 4-1, putting them on 53 points with a game in hand. Newcastle got back to winning ways at Southampton as Alexander Isak scored a brace in his side’s 3-1 victory.
Embed from Getty Images10-man Arsenal edged Wolves 1-0 but the controversy of Lewis Myles-Skelly’s sending off overshadowed the hard fought win.
Manchester City beat Chelsea 3-1, despite Noni Madueke giving the Blues the lead inside three minutes.
Brentford beat Crystal Palace 2-1 away from home and surprisingly Leicester did the same away at Tottenham. Jamie Vardy inspired the shocking win, putting more pressure on Ange Postecoglu.
West Ham held Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw and the match week ended at Craven Cottage where Lisandro Martinez netted to earn Manchester United an important victory.
