Brighton’s Lewis Dunk is unrecognisable since his return from injury, in fact, the Albion haven’t won a game since his return.
His dip in form has forced Brighton fans to ask themselves the dreaded question: “Is Dunk good enough anymore?”
If the answer is no, Fabian Hurzeler needs to find a solution quickly.

His best performance was against Manchester City, where Brighton won 2-1. The Brazilian had a 94% passing accuracy, made seven clearances, nine defensive actions and won 75% of his duels.
However, once Dunk was fit, Igor was immediately dropped and Brighton lost their solidity at the back.

Igor’s passing accuracy of 92.42% is better than Dunk’s too.
Defensively, Igor has faced five less shots on target and has conceded five less goals. This is due to Igor’s aggressive approach out of possession, where he prevents opponents getting in dangerous areas to shoot.

Igor has more of a presence than Dunk. The English centre-half is usually so dominant but he has been soft and clumsy in recent weeks. This season, he’s lost possession 87 times, 40 more times than Igor.
Brighton were linked with Mats Hummels and Olivier Boscagli in the summer but maybe the answer is right under the Brighton manager’s nose.
In Dunk’s absence, Igor stepped up immensely, forming a strong partnership with Jan Paul van Hecke.
The Brazilian is waiting in the wings and it may be time for Hurzeler to give him another opportunity to help end Brighton’s poor run of form.
