The final day of the season is finally upon us and on Saturday afternoon Horsham have the chance to end their superb league campaign with a win against Concord Rangers.

Dom Di Paola’s men failed to secure their play-off position on Tuesday night against Cheshunt. The Ambers earned a vital 1-0 victory thanks to Chevron McLean’s early opener, a win that could see them avoid relegation. A frustrating evening for Horsham made worse by Lee Harding’s sending off in the 96th minute, piling the pressure on Saturday’s game where Horsham need at least point to guarantee a play-off place.

Closely behind them are Billericy who trail by three points but can leapfrog Horsham with a win on the final day of the season due to their superior goal difference, given Horsham fail to get a result at home. It’s all heating up at the top!

The Hornets will be the favourites as their opponents, Concord Rangers, have already been relegated and sit in 21st on just 26 points. Compare this to Horsham’s 73, there’s really no competition. However, the Beach Boys held Horsham to a point in late November as Duane Ofori-Acheampong cancelled out Charlie Hester-Cook’s opener.

Earlier on this season, INMR spoke with Hester-Cook following Horsham’s incredible FA Cup game against Barnsley where they managed a 3-3 draw to earn a replay at The Camping World Community Stadium.

Interview with Charlie Hester-Cook as he reflects on his career so far and Horsham’s fantastic FA Cup run.

In the 1-1 draw away from home, Horsham created plenty of good opportunities to win the game, but were unable to find the finish to return home with all three points. At the time it seemed like two points dropped against a bottom of the table side, but in hindsight it wouldn’t have made much difference as they would still be in the play-offs, with only the league champions Hornchurch receiving automatic promotion. They are 19 points clear at the top of the league on 97 points with the chance to become centurions with a win on Saturday against Kingstonian.

Concord Rangers have had a season to forget having lost 27 games this season, including their recent 0-4 defeat to Bognor Regis in the week. This is the Beach Boys’ second relegation in as many years, after coming 22nd in the National League South last season.

The Hornet’s have had it all this season, they’ve experienced an incredible FA Cup run, reached the Sussex Senior Cup Final and qualified for the play-offs. In their 60th game of the season, can they end on a high?
